The Role
The Vehicle Testing Manager will lead vehicle testing and validation programs across development, production, fleet, and compliance activities.
The role covers test strategy, planning, validation, durability, performance, safety, environmental testing, facilities, instrumentation, data analysis, defect management, suppliers, and reporting.
Testing Strategy and Planning
- Develop testing and validation strategies, standards, procedures, methodologies, governance, objectives, acceptance criteria, coverage, and validation requirements.
- Align testing with product-development milestones and regulatory requirements while establishing risk-based priorities.
- Develop test plans, schedules, resources, budgets, deliverables, and entry and exit criteria.
- Coordinate testing across prototypes, pre-production vehicles, production vehicles, and fleet vehicles.
Vehicle Validation
- Lead validation from prototype development through production readiness.
- Verify vehicle systems against engineering specifications and functional, performance, durability, safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate validation across mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and integrated vehicle systems.
