Role overview
The Waiter or Waitress reports to the F&B Supervisor and provides exceptional food and beverage service.
The role focuses on seamless, attentive, and personalized dining experiences while maintaining high restaurant and outlet presentation standards.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Read daily events and acknowledge VIP arrivals.
- Know menu items, garnishes, contents, preparation methods, specials, and alternative cuisine.
- Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally and respond to guest requests.
- Use the POS system for sales, checks, and cash-out procedures.
- Carry trays, bus and reset tables, and set tables according to standards.
- Handle guest satisfaction issues and report problems and food and beverage comments to management.
- Follow cash and credit card procedures.
- Keep restaurants, workstations, service areas, and storage areas clean, safe, stocked, and orderly.
- Polish silver, replenish condiments, and perform assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and maintenance duties.
- Handle equipment carefully and minimize waste, breakages, and supply mishandling.
- Assist other food and beverage outlets during peak hours and maintain good working relationships.
Qualifications
- Secondary education.
- At least one year of food and beverage serving experience.
- Previous public contact and/or cashiering experience.
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
- Professional presentation and grooming.
- Effective cash-handling ability.
- Good communication, customer contact, and problem resolution skills.
- Basic food and beverage product knowledge.
- Teamwork, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
