Job Summary

Lead and participate in audits covering Risk and Global Markets activities and processes across the FAB Group.

Provide assurance by identifying weaknesses, escalating significant findings, and agreeing action plans.

Advise management on enterprise risk, governance, internal controls, accounting systems, and risk-management framework effectiveness.

Audit Planning and Execution

  • Establish the internal-audit risk universe and contribute to the annual risk-based audit plan, scopes, objectives, and terms of reference.
  • Conduct audits across Operational, Fraud, Credit, Market, Capital Management, and international-location risk areas.
  • Assess governance, risk management, controls, data and transaction processing, asset safeguarding, and resource efficiency.
  • Review and finalize audit worksheets and reports and agree documented management action plans.
  • Maintain risk assessments, audit programs, and audit records in the central audit-management tool.

Advisory and Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the day-to-day audit contact and business partner for Enterprise Risk Management teams and line managers.
  • Advise management on risk direction, governance, controls, process improvements, and market best practices.
  • Follow up with unit management to ensure corrective actions are fully implemented.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and address critical issues promptly.
  • Conduct investigations or special reviews assigned by the Head of Audit or GCAO.

Team and Governance

  • Provide guidance, on-the-job training, and knowledge sharing for junior colleagues.
  • Promote organizational values and ethics within the team.
  • Monitor assigned activity performance against budgets and report variances.
  • Execute GIA policies, procedures, guidance, and practice notes and contribute to their development.
  • Ensure functional reports are timely, accurate, and compliant with group quality standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate Chartered Accountant; bachelor's degree (STEM).
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in relevant banking audit, risk, control, product-control, middle-office, or supervisory operations roles.
  • Experience in Treasury, Trading, and Global Markets business areas.
  • Detailed understanding of related enablement, support, and control functions.
  • Professional English report writing, analytical thinking, problem solving, initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Control function background preferred.
  • CFA, FRM, master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or finance, or CIA preferred.
