Job Summary

The Associate Director, Ratings Advisory provides analytical and execution support for ratings advisory mandates.

The role serves corporate, institutional, financial institution, and sovereign clients.

The position works with Ratings and Debt Advisory, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Coverage, Risk, and other internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare analysis, presentation materials, and supporting documentation for ratings advisory mandates.
  • Review client financial statements, capital structures, cash flows, and business profiles.
  • Prepare peer benchmarking, market research, and rating methodology summaries.
  • Contribute to rating case presentations, information packs, and client discussion materials.
  • Coordinate rating agency interactions, meetings, information requests, and follow-up actions.
  • Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and rating impact assessment.
  • Gather inputs from DCM, Corporate Finance, Coverage, and Risk teams.
  • Maintain mandate files, engagement records, data sources, and advisory documentation.
  • Support reporting on ratings trends, market updates, and client opportunities.
  • Follow FAB policies, confidentiality requirements, governance standards, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of regional markets and rating agency methodologies across corporate, financial institution, and sovereign sectors.
  • Good financial modelling, credit analysis, and scenario analysis capability.
  • Basic understanding of bonds, sukuk, hybrid capital, and structured financing solutions.
  • Good presentation, credit writing, analytical communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage deliverables, meet deadlines, produce accurate outputs, and work with internal and client teams.
  • High integrity and commitment to governance, confidentiality, and risk management.
  • Ability to support broader ratings and debt advisory initiatives.

Preferred Experience

  • Two to five years of experience in credit analysis, ratings, debt capital markets, corporate finance, credit risk, or financial services is preferred.
  • Exposure to rating agency interactions, credit assessments, or stakeholder materials is advantageous.
