Role Overview
Perform visual and final inspections of cast and forged parts.
Verify compliance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and EN, ISO, ASME, and ASTM codes.
Report to the QC Engineer and coordinate with production and quality teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect castings and forgings visually and dimensionally against drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Inspect marking and traceability requirements.
- Maintain final and visual inspection records and API 20A and API 20B records.
- Perform PMI and hardness surveys when required.
- Report deviations, rejections, and nonconformities.
- Verify the effectiveness of product-related NCRs.
- Assist with raw-material inspection and NDE when required.
- Maintain EHSS and housekeeping compliance.
Education and Experience
- ITI, diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of steel-casting visual inspection and quality-control experience.
- Forging experience is an additional benefit.
Technical Qualifications
- Understand ASME, ASTM, ISO, and EN material and inspection codes.
- Apply MT and PT NDT methods and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Use portable PMI and hardness-testing equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, inspection standards, and test procedures.
- Understand MSS SP 55, Scrata visual inspection methods, and casting and forging defects.
Certifications
- ASNT Level II in Visual Inspection and ISO 9712 are preferred.
- ASNT Level II in MT or PT is preferred.
Other Skills
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated positions when required.
