Role Overview
The EHS Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety management processes.
The role serves as the organisation’s technical expert on environmental and safety matters and provides strategic direction for an interdependent EHS culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee EHS programmes to maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and business requirements while driving continuous improvement.
- Influence and mentor company leadership to strengthen an interdependent EHS culture.
- Develop and present regular EHS performance updates and indicators to company leadership.
- Serve as the EHS technical expert for process hazard analyses, management of change, incident investigations, and related activities.
- Implement the Health and Safety Management System in line with company plans, local statutory requirements, and international best practices.
- Manage EHS compliance monitoring and direct health and safety management activities.
- Evaluate contractors, vendors, and independent inspection agencies for EHS competence.
- Establish EHS improvement and stakeholder engagement programmes.
- Review incident reporting, investigations, and data analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Develop emergency response plans, conduct drills, and coordinate with external emergency services during incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
- More than 10 years of experience in EHSS roles, including managerial experience.
- Relevant professional certification such as ISO, OSHA, NEBOSH, or an equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with EHSS regulations and standards applicable in Saudi Arabia.
- Strong risk assessment skills and the ability to identify and mitigate EHSS risks.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
