Role Overview

Lead the effective management and optimization of forging processes within the Operations Department.

Drive operational excellence, efficiency, innovation, quality, and alignment with production objectives.

Report to the Production Director.

Strategy and Leadership

  • Translate divisional strategy into operational plans with clear, measurable goals.
  • Guide performance, support team development, and promote organizational values and ethics.
  • Collaborate with discipline experts on talent development and innovative solutions.

Budget and Reporting

  • Monitor divisional operations against the approved budget and report variances.
  • Prepare unit reports according to company requirements, policies, and quality standards.
  • Present regular forging performance and improvement updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Implement safety strategies, plans, processes, and risk controls across forging operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments covering operational, safety, quality, equipment, material, and process hazards.
  • Maintain contingency plans for equipment malfunctions, material shortages, and production disruptions.

Forging Shop Management

  • Manage day-to-day forging activities against quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
  • Work with Technical and Engineering teams to improve workflows using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Supervise shop teams and support continuous skill development and a safe, productive workplace.

Quality and Compliance

  • Implement rigorous quality controls so forged components meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and other applicable local regulations.
  • Coordinate with Quality and HSSE teams to support compliance and audit readiness.

Training and Development

  • Implement training programs on forging techniques and standards in collaboration with HR.
  • Improve team expertise, operational efficiency, and adherence to quality production standards.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in forging shop operations or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001, Certified Forging Specialist, or NEBOSH are preferred.
