- Lead the performance development and creative direction of virtual characters across digital platforms
- Design and refine character personalities, behaviors, emotional responses, and performance frameworks
- Collaborate with actors, voice artists, motion capture performers, animators, and AI developers to create authentic character experiences
- Develop performance guidelines and documentation to ensure consistency across multiple character deployments
- Oversee motion capture sessions, performance reviews, and character iteration processes
- Work closely with technical teams to integrate performance systems into virtual worlds, games, AI applications, and immersive experiences
- Research emerging technologies related to digital humans, AI driven characters, virtual production, and interactive storytelling
- Manage project timelines, production schedules, and coordination among creative and technical stakeholders
- Evaluate audience engagement and character effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative feedback
- Support the development of public presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and promotional materials showcasing virtual character capabilities
Requirements
- Minimum BA/MA in Performing Arts, Theatre, Animation, Game Design, Digital Media, Human Computer Interaction, or related field; equivalent professional experience considered
- At least 3–5 years of experience in character performance, acting direction, animation, virtual production, game development, XR experiences, or related creative industries
- Strong understanding of character development, storytelling, emotional expression, and audience engagement
- Experience working with digital humans, avatars, virtual influencers, game characters, or AI powered interactive characters
- Familiarity with motion capture workflows, performance capture technologies, and virtual production environments
- Knowledge of AI tools and technologies relevant to character creation and interactive experiences is highly desirable
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder communication
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities with experience working across multidisciplinary teams
- Portfolio demonstrating character focused projects, performances, productions, or interactive experiences
- Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset

About the Job
- We are seeking a creative, performance driven Virtual Character Performance Lead to oversee the development, direction, and execution of digital character performances across virtual, interactive, and immersive environments.
- The successful candidate will lead character performance design, motion direction, behavioral development, and audience engagement strategies for virtual humans, digital avatars, AI powered characters, and immersive storytelling experiences.
- This is a hands on role working closely with performers, animators, AI specialists, game developers, XR creators, and creative teams to build believable, engaging, and emotionally compelling virtual characters.
