About the Role
De Art is hiring a Digital Actor Coach to guide performers in motion capture, virtual production, and AI-driven performance environments. You will develop training programs, collaborate with directors and VFX supervisors, and help actors deliver authentic performances in digital contexts.

Responsibilities
- Lead one on one and group coaching sessions for actors working in motion capture, virtual production, green screen, and AI assisted performance contexts.
- Develop and deliver training programs that help performers adapt classical and contemporary acting techniques to digital environments.
- Collaborate with directors and VFX supervisors to align performance direction with technical and visual requirements of each production.
- Guide actors through spatial awareness, physicality, and emotional authenticity in the absence of traditional sets, props, or costumes.
- Advise on best practices for performance capture sessions, including body suit calibration, facial capture protocols, and real time feedback workflows.
- Support casting processes by identifying performers with strong adaptability to digital production demands.
- Produce coaching notes, session plans, and interpretive frameworks tailored to individual productions and performers.
- Stay current with emerging tools and methodologies in AI driven performance, deepfake ethics, virtual avatars, and interactive narrative performance.
- Maintain documentation of coaching methods, session records, and performance development progress.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives exploring the future of performance in digital and AI generated media.
Requirements
- Minimum BA/MA in Acting, Theatre Direction, Performance Studies, Film Production, or a related field; advanced training or equivalent professional experience preferred
- At least 3–5 years of experience as an acting coach, performance director, or related role, with demonstrable work in digital, virtual, or XR production environments
- Solid understanding of motion capture technology, virtual production pipelines, and AI performance tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working on film, television, game, or immersive media productions involving digital performance
- Proven ability to coach performers across diverse backgrounds, experience levels, and performance disciplines
- Familiarity with platforms and tools such as Unreal Engine, Faceware, Xsens, or similar performance capture systems is an asset
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and psychologically safe coaching practices
- Fluency in English

- The successful candidate will coach actors through the unique demands of motion capture, virtual production, AI driven performance tools, and real time rendering pipelines.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to translate complex technical constraints into clear, actor friendly direction.
- Experience working on film, television, game, or immersive media productions involving digital performance.
- Proven ability to coach performers across diverse backgrounds, experience levels, and performance disciplines.
- Familiarity with platforms and tools such as Unreal Engine, Faceware, Xsens, or similar performance capture systems is an asset.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and psychologically safe coaching practices.
- Fluency in English; additional languages an asset.
