Transport Allocator/Coordinator

About the Role

Schedule

• The role requires a 4:30 am start.

Key Responsibilities

• Allocate daily jobs to drivers and manage run sheets and delivery documentation.
• Monitor driver progress and proactively plan upcoming deliveries.
• Communicate with drivers via two-way radio to ensure seamless job transitions.
• Track delivery status and keep customers informed of delays.
• Maintain accurate records of container movements, including returns and dehires.
• Manage and update daily operational spreadsheets and reports.
• Ensure compliance with driver fatigue regulations, legal weight limits, and safety requirements.
• Identify and manage dangerous goods consignments in line with legal standards.

About You

• At least 3 years of experience in transport, logistics, or fleet coordination across wharf and container operations.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Confident communication skills for liaising effectively with drivers and customers.
• A detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Comfort using systems and spreadsheets to manage real-time data.
