The primary role of the Training & Competency Assessor is to assess learners’ performance and related knowledge in a range of tasks and to ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meets the requirements of the technical rail knowledge and standards required.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the business and support line managers to enable best-in-class training and competence function.

To liaise and share good practice with peer Assessors, Internal Quality Advisors, Internal Trainers, Internal Verifiers and HR Manager and to attend regular Progress and Standardisation meetings
To act as an Internal Quality Advisor, subject to the necessary training, if appropriate
Review any changes related to Industry Standards and other national rail standards that are relevant to Loram UK’s/EMEA operations, and develop and implement any necessary changes to internal operational safety standards
Ensure that all Competency management systems are kept up to date for audit and business requirements
GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4 (or equivalent).
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical/technical subject.
Assessor Qualification (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, A1, D32) or willing to work towards
Level 4 - Internal Quality Assurance or willing to work towards
