Key Responsibilities
- Convoy Support:
- Drive the trailing vehicle in a convoy, maintaining constant communication with the Lead Driver and managing the "tail" of the line.
• Logistics & Supply
- Transport and manage essential supplies, including water, fuel, medical kits, and spare parts.
- Navigation:
- Utilize GPS and topographical maps to navigate rugged terrain, unpaved roads, and remote areas.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Address minor mechanical issues (tire changes, fluid top-offs) in the field.
• Safety & Recovery
- Assist in vehicle recovery operations (winching, towing) if a primary vehicle becomes stuck or disabled.
- Reporting:
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or mechanical failures encountered on the trail.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Licensing:
- Valid heavy or light vehicle driver s license (depending on vehicle type) with a clean driving record.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in off-road or remote environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating 4WD systems, winches, and recovery gear.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is highly preferred.
- Communication:
- Strong verbal communication skills; experience using VHF/UHF radio systems is a plus.
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to drive for long hours in challenging weather conditions and perform physical tasks like loading/unloading gear.
