Technical Lead

Backend and data

• Design and optimize backend services and data models using PostgreSQL.
• Use JPA, Hibernate, JPQL, and CriteriaBuilder.
• Ensure scalability, data integrity, and performance for data-intensive systems.

DevOps and automation

• Work within Git-based development processes and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Manage containerized environments with Docker.
• Use Maven and Eclipse Tycho for build management.
• Implement automated build, deployment, and release processes.

Quality and delivery

• Maintain code quality through testing and engineering best practices.
• Perform performance profiling and JVM tuning.
• Support production stability and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with QA on test coverage and release quality.
• Work in Agile/Scrum teams across UK, Europe, nearshore, and offshore delivery centres.
• Support team mobilization, onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science, or equivalent, is required.
• Extensive enterprise Java and DevOps experience of 10 years or more is preferred.
• Architecture and hands-on development experience is preferred.
• Regulated or complex operational experience, such as forensics or LIMS, is preferred.
• Strong collaboration across distributed delivery teams is preferred.
