- Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
- Organise classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment
- Observe and assess children in line with school assessments
- Take responsibility for the progress of a class
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences
- Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to students' needs
- Maintain good relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviour
Requirements
- Clear understanding of the Curriculum
- Ability to plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range
- Ability to motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Commitment to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community
- Ability to work flexibly and liaise with colleagues
- Ability to use data from assessments to influence planning and intervention
