Job Description

  • Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Teacher Primary Maternity Cover for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi.
  • Muna British Academy has an 'Outstanding' ADEK rating since 2015.
  • Relocated to a state of the art campus in Saadiyat Lagoons in August 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Be a good communicator at all levels.
  • Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
  • Work with parents to ensure happiness and best academic outcomes.
  • Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff.

Teaching and learning

  • Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
  • Organise classroom provision and learning resources.
  • Plan, prepare and present sessions catering for whole ability range.
  • Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
  • Be reflective of classroom provision and adjust accordingly.
  • Meet with other professionals if required.

Assessment and data

  • Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meet requirements for assessment and recording using Target Tracker.
  • Use data to influence planning and intervention.
  • Provide feedback to parents at Parent Teacher Conferences.

Behavior management and duties

  • Follow the school's behaviour policy.
  • Manage classes effectively.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils.
  • Be a positive role model.
  • Have high expectations of behavior.

Wider professional responsibilities

  • Work as part of a curriculum action group.
  • Support organising of school events and activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education or Bachelor's degree with PGCE or similar.
  • Minimum 1 year experience teaching England National Curriculum.
  • Experience with EAL students.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating children.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Recent involvement in extra curricular activities.
  • Positive and solution focused attitude.
  • IT literate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
