- Develop and implement policies and practices for department reflecting school's vision and aims
- Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long term plans for the development of department
- Use data effectively to identify students who are underachieving and create plans of action
- Analyse and interpret relevant school data to inform policies and department SEF writing
- Ensure appropriate schemes of work are developed, in place, and regularly reviewed for all year groups
- Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students including SEN and high ability
- Set expectations for staff in relation to standards of achievement and quality of teaching and learning
- Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning and take action to improve
- Ensure department contributes to school's CAS Programme and after school Booster/Revision Sessions
- Performance manage team in accordance with school performance management policy
- Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources
- Maintain efficient and effective control of Department's Resource and CapEx budgets
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification

Job Description

Main Duties

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
- Minimum of 3 year teaching experience.
- Experience of the UK curriculum.
