- Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Organise classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment
- Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching
- Observe and assess children in line with school assessments
- Be reflective of classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning and curriculum accordingly
- Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists if required
- Use data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings
- Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to students' needs
- Maintain good relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently positive attitudes, values and behaviour
