- Recent and consistent involvement in extra curricular activities

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality and effective lessons that inspire students to succeed.
- Be an active participant in a dynamic, innovative planning team.
- Effectively use data to inform planning and differentiated groupings.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

- Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff.
Teaching and Learning
- Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
- Organising classroom provision and learning resources, creating displays.
- Data informed planning, preparing and presenting sessions for whole ability range.
- Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
- Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
- Being reflective of classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made.
- Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, if required.
Assessment and Data
- Taking responsibility for the progress of a class.
- Meeting requirements for assessment, recording and tracking of student’s progress.
- Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
- Providing feedback to parents and carers at Parent Teacher Conferences.
Behaviour Management and Duties
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy.
- Manage classes effectively using appropriate approaches.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority.
- Be a positive role model and demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviour.
- Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self control and independence.
- Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
- Work as part of a curriculum action group.
- Support organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student’s achievements and well being.
- Actively monitor and track attendance and follow up with parents.
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
Qualifications
