Role summary

  • Seeking a Tax Specialist to support direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities in the UAE and across Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Corporate Tax

  • Prepare and support filing of UAE Corporate Tax returns via EmaraTax.
  • Maintain Corporate Tax registrations and ensure all entities meet deadlines.
  • Assess and document tax treatment of group entities and transactions.
  • Monitor developments to the Corporate Tax regime and assess impact.
  • Support tax provisions, disclosures, and effective tax rate analysis.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

  • Own preparation, review, and timely submission of periodic VAT returns via EmaraTax.
  • Determine and document correct treatment of supplies.
  • Manage input VAT recovery, apportionment methodologies, and reconciliations.
  • Handle VAT registrations, amendments, deregistrations, refund claims, and voluntary disclosures.
  • Review contracts, pricing, invoicing, and new business initiatives for VAT implications.

International tax

  • Support transfer pricing compliance including Local File and Master File documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing intercompany arrangements for arm's length pricing.
  • Contribute to OECD Pillar Two / UAE DMTT workstreams.
  • Support analysis of double tax treaties, withholding taxes, and PE questions.

E invoicing and tax technology

  • Support group's readiness for and transition to UAE e invoicing mandate.
  • Support mapping of ERP and billing data to FTA's mandatory data fields.
  • Support embedding e invoicing into AP/AR and tax reporting processes.

Advisory, business partnering, and controversy

  • Research technical positions using primary sources and document conclusions.
  • Support responses to FTA audits, queries, and information requests.
  • Work with external tax advisors to scope work and review deliverables.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, economics, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CTA, ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
  • 6 8 years of relevant tax experience (2 3 years UAE Tax experience).
  • Strong current knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT, including EmaraTax filing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply primary legislative and tax authority sources.
  • Experience managing deliverables and deadlines independently.

Desirable

  • Real estate sector experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion and e invoicing/tax technology implementation.
  • GCC indirect tax experience.
  • Transfer pricing and/or OECD Pillar Two / DMTT experience.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong technical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with primary sources.
  • Strong MS Suite skills and comfort with large data sets.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Organised and deadline driven.
  • Collaborative and proactive.
