Role Purpose
Own the complete technical architecture and ensure that all subsystems operate as one coherent product.
Required Competencies
- Define architectures for fixed, portable, vehicle-mounted, and mobile systems.
- Translate operational requirements into system and subsystem requirements.
- Define software interfaces and SDKs between various hardware devices.
- Produce system block diagrams, interface-control documents, timing diagrams, data-flow diagrams, state diagrams, and deployment architectures.
- Define coordinate systems and data relationships between sensing devices.
- Establish system timing, latency, synchronization, bandwidth, storage, and power budgets.
- Allocate functions between hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems.
- Define normal, degraded, fault, recovery, maintenance, and calibration operating modes.
- Lead design reviews and technical decision-making across engineering disciplines.
- Maintain requirements traceability from operational need through design, implementation, and validation.
- Manage technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and engineering changes.
Required Education
- Minimum bachelor's degree in IT or engineering, or equivalent, is required.
