Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes including Nigiri, Maki, Sashimi, and specialty rolls
- Select fresh, high quality seafood and ingredients while ensuring proper storage and handling
- Ensure consistency in portion size, presentation, and flavor
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the sushi station and follow food safety regulations
- Interact with customers at sushi bars, taking special requests
- Monitor inventory, prepare supply orders, and reduce food wastage
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff when necessary
- Keep up to date with new trends, techniques, and sushi menu ideas
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a high end restaurant or hotel
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for Japanese cuisine
- Good communication and teamwork skills

- The Sushi Chef is responsible for preparing high quality sushi and other Japanese dishes.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role in a high end restaurant or hotel.

- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for Japanese cuisine.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Culinary degree or formal training in Japanese cuisine is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with omakase or live sushi stations.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in Japanese or English, are a plus.
