Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits
- Measure and prepare ingredients as directed by the chef
- Assist with basic cooking tasks like portioning ingredients and arranging dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas
- Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Regularly clean workstations, equipment, and floors
- Assist with unloading and storing food supplies
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness, discarding expired items
- Monitor inventory and alert supervisors of any shortages
- Properly dispose of kitchen waste and follow recycling guidelines
- Set up workstations and prepare them for use
- Adhere to health, safety, and food handling regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role (preferred but not required)
- Ability to follow instructions and multitask
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy items
