Position Summary
Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen workers.
Manage food presentation, portioning, arrangement, garnish, preparation quantities, and menu communication.
Support kitchen operations, food quality, employee supervision, guest service, and workplace standards.
Kitchen Operations
- Create decorative food displays and ensure proper portion, arrangement, and garnish.
- Monitor food quantities and inform food and beverage staff about specials and unavailable menu items.
- Prepare special meals or substitute items.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff and provide required items.
- Monitor kitchen supplies and food stock.
- Maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and food products.
- Ensure food quality and notify the manager about products that do not meet specifications.
Supervision and Service
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Address guest service needs and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
