Role Overview

Inspections and Assessment

• Plan and conduct routine, principal, and special or detailed inspections of bridges, underpasses, decks, bearings, joints, barriers, piers, abutments, drainage, and waterproofing.
• Identify, record, and classify defects such as cracking, spalling, corrosion, tendon distress, bearing movement, and joint failure.
• Assess structural significance and recommend follow-up actions, prioritization, and repair methodologies.

Asset Records and Reporting

• Maintain accurate structural asset inventories and inspection histories for assigned bridges and underpasses.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, condition surveys, photographic records, and asset management documentation.
• Assist with measurement of completed works and project documentation.

Maintenance and Repair

• Manage bridge and underpass maintenance and repair activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Provide technical direction for concrete repairs, crack injection, waterproofing, protective coatings, bearing replacement, joint repairs, and barrier or kerb upgrades.
• Review contractor and subcontractor method statements, repair proposals, and materials before execution.

Coordination and Safety

• Coordinate with QA/QC teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to deliver inspection and maintenance programs.
• Witness critical inspection stages and support emergency or reactive maintenance for structures with critical defects or safety concerns.
• Ensure HSE compliance, including traffic management and confined-space or access arrangements where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in bridge or road structure inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation works.
• Demonstrated experience in structural inspection techniques and condition rating or asset management systems.
• Experience on UAE infrastructure or bridge maintenance projects is advantageous.
• A valid UAE driving license is mandatory.

Technical and Professional Capabilities

• Strong knowledge of bridge and underpass structural behavior, common defect mechanisms, and maintenance and repair methods.
• Ability to interpret and technically assess structural drawings, assessment calculations, and specifications.
• Understanding of UAE construction and structural maintenance standards, codes, and HSE requirements.
• Strong report-writing, analytical, defect-diagnosis, communication, and coordination skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency is required; familiarity with asset or bridge management systems is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage inspection and maintenance programs effectively.
