Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Steel Structural Engineer with expertise in construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and strengthening of steel pedestrian bridges in Dubai or the UAE.
The role covers design review, structural assessment, site execution, fabrication coordination, erection supervision, and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and rehabilitation of steel pedestrian bridges.
- Review structural, shop, and fabrication drawings and method statements.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, fabricators, and authorities.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, bolting, painting, galvanizing, and corrosion protection works.
- Conduct inspections and condition assessments and recommend repair, strengthening, or replacement solutions.
- Supervise erection, lifting operations, and installation of steel bridge components.
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, RTA, project specifications, and international bridge standards.
- Review submittals, inspection requests, quality documentation, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with planning, QA/QC, HSE, and construction teams.
- Prepare technical, progress, and structural assessment reports.
- Ensure safe execution according to approved procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in steel bridge construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation projects.
- Proven UAE experience with steel pedestrian bridges, footbridges, or foot over bridges.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, welding, bolting, and bridge maintenance.
- Experience in structural inspections, condition assessments, and repair methodologies.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, and relevant UAE regulations.
- Proficiency with STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of bridge construction methodologies and temporary works.
- UAE driving licence is preferred.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
