Job Purpose

The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, organization, and issuance of automotive spare parts, tools, equipment, lubricants, and other workshop materials.

The role ensures accurate inventory records and timely availability of parts and materials to support smooth workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming spare parts, tools, materials, and workshop supplies.
  • Verify received items against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
  • Properly label, organize, and store spare parts and materials in designated locations.
  • Issue spare parts, tools, lubricants, and consumables to technicians and workshop staff based on approved requests.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in the inventory/ERP system.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify items requiring replenishment.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper records of stock receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Ensure fast-moving and critical automotive parts are readily available.
  • Follow proper storage procedures for oils, lubricants, chemicals, batteries, and other workshop materials.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and maintained according to company standards.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement, Workshop, Accounts, and Service departments regarding parts requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in Stores, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage.
  • 2–4 years of experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in an automotive workshop, car service center, dealership, or spare parts environment.
  • Good knowledge of automotive spare parts, tools, lubricants, and workshop consumables.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
  • Experience using inventory/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to identify and differentiate automotive parts and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.
