About the role

Serve as a forward-deployed engineer embedded with internal teams such as SRE, Finance, Sales, People Ops, or product groups.

Build applications, automations, and agents that make internal work faster, clearer, and more dependable.

Help establish the operating model for a new engineering function.

What you'll be working on

  • Embed with stakeholder teams, participate in their rituals, and identify high-leverage workflows for software improvement.
  • Build interactive tools that read data, apply decisions, and write results to systems of record.
  • Replace repetitive work with pipelines and agents that involve people when judgment is required.
  • Scope, build, deploy, measure adoption, and iterate on solutions end to end.
  • Turn reusable skills, integrations, and interface patterns into shared building blocks.
  • Use sources of truth, governance, and access controls to keep tooling reliable.

What you'll bring

  • At least 8 years of experience building and owning production software.
  • Staff-level scope and judgment with the ability to operate on ambiguous greenfield work.
  • Full-stack engineering skill across interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data layers.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including warehouse and pipeline reasoning.
  • Product mindset and stakeholder fluency with non-engineering teams.
  • Fast delivery balanced with attention to correctness.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted development, LLM agents, automation platforms, and guardrails.
  • Strong ownership focused on measurable improvements to stakeholder work.

Bonus points

  • Experience as a forward-deployed, solutions, or embedded engineer.
  • BI or analytics engineering experience with Sigma, Looker, dbt, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Workato or n8n.
  • Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or LLM tool use.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage environment with significant ambiguity.

Compensation

  • Compensation is stated as up to $215,000 to $260,000 plus bonus.
  • Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.
  • Compensation depends on knowledge, education, abilities, internal equity, and market data.

Benefits

  • Benefits include paid leave, health, dental, vision, HSA contributions, parental leave, and disability coverage.
  • Additional offerings include professional development, commuter benefits, a cell phone stipend, 401(k) matching, meals, and location-specific programs.
