About the Role
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse for a 12-month fixed-term contract at Colwyn Bay Hospital. The role involves providing individualized patient care, mentoring students, and taking charge of the ward when required.

Responsibilities
- Initiate immediate, individualized care of patients by assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
- Produce records and document in compliance with Local, Health Board and NMC Guidelines
- Demonstrate theoretical and practical ability regarding patient care, providing high quality, effective nursing
- Promote effective communication/collaboration with all members of the multi disciplinary team including the discharge process
- Take charge of the Ward/Unit when required and provide continuity of service, supporting less experienced staff
- Mentor and support nursing students and participate in assisting them to meet their learning objectives
- Ensure equipment is used correctly and resources are used wisely to minimize waste and misuse

- THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE.
- Exciting opportunity for qualified staff nurses to join our friendly Community hospital with 2 wards (32 beds) and an OPD department.
- We welcome motivated nurses interested in expanding and moving forward with services.
- We are happy to coach and mentor newly qualified Staff Nurses through their Preceptorship.
Main duties of the job
- Produce records and document in compliance with Local, Health Board and NMC Guidelines.
- Demonstrate an awareness of research based clinical procedures.
- Demonstrate theoretical and practical ability regarding patient care, providing high quality, effective nursing.
- Promote effective communication/collaboration with all members of the multi disciplinary team including the discharge process.
- Take charge of the Ward/Unit when required and provide continuity of service, supporting less experienced staff.
- Demonstrate supervisory skills in relation to patients/carers/student/NVQ Candidates and less experienced staff.
- Mentor and support nursing students and participate in assisting them to meet their learning objectives.
- Ensure equipment is used in the correct way and that resources are used wisely.
- Comply with Health Board and Divisional mandatory Training requirements.
