About the Role

- Take responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing in the absence of the person who has continuing (24 hour) responsibility at Band 7
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluating programmes of care
- Manage a group of staff in the absence of the Ward Sister
- Deliver care of the highest standard and work closely with other members of the multi disciplinary team
- Ensure high quality, current evidence based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients from admission through to discharge
Requirements
- Qualified nurse with ability to take responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing in the absence of the Band 7
- Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care
- Ability to manage a group of staff in the absence of the Ward Sister

Main duties of the job
- Takes responsibility for a ward or equivalent sphere of nursing, in the absence of the person who has continuing (24 hour) responsibility at Band 7.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluating programmes of care.
- Responsible for managing a group of staff in the absence of the Ward Sister.
- Deliver care of the highest standard and work closely with other members of the multi disciplinary team.
- Ensure that high quality, current evidence based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge.
