Responsibilities
- Corporate responsibility for the provision of Finance Business Information Systems
- Lead the Business Systems team to deliver a quality service with good practice (ITIL) across incident resolution, helpdesk, business systems applications and databases, business intelligence, business systems deployment, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Standardise and improve business processes and applications through on going business transformation and continuing improvement
- Ensure business systems and related systems are successfully maintained and managed and offer the highest quality of customer service
- Ensure business applications are fit for purpose, deliver the correct benefits and are effective and efficient
- Manage a highly skilled team to provide the right functionality in response to current and future business requirements
Requirements
- Masters Degree or equivalent professional, vocational qualification(s)/ industry experience
- Recognised qualification in at least one IT or related discipline
- ITIL qualification or equivalent
- Substantial experience in IT, Business Systems project management and development
- Extensive experience of introducing and developing Business Systems and associated IT
- Experience of working to recognised support and delivery standards e.g. PRINCE2
- Understand budgetary control, governance, risk and assurance and resource allocation procedures
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and proven ability to drive change
- Knowledge of IT security standards and best practice in relation to IT and Business Systems
- Ability to prioritise significant workloads and resource them in response to changing demands
- Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners

- The post holder is a Senior Finance professional within the Finance department with responsibility for the strategic direction, development, project and operational management of the Business Systems team.
- Responsible for the operational development and management of efficient and effective Business Systems and related business intelligence for BCULHB and WAST.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Post holder will look to standardise and improve business processes and applications through on going business transformation and continuing improvement.
- They will ensure that business systems and related systems are successfully maintained and managed and offer the highest quality of customer service ensuring issues are managed efficiently to resolution.
- Post holder will ensure that business applications are fit for purpose, deliver the correct benefits and are effective and efficient.
- They will ensure through the effective management of a highly skilled team, that these applications provide the right functionality in response to current and future business requirements.
