Sr Interface Engineer

Job Purpose

External and Internal Interfaces

• Coordinate interface requirements with stakeholders, end users, EPC contractors, and project packages through closure.
• Establish regular interface meetings and provide progress updates, reports, and proactive issue identification.
• Coordinate battery-limit tie-ins and related project interface activities.

Technical Integration and Design

• Identify and execute technical and physical interfaces using interface point registers and controlled interface databases.
• Review project scope, implementation strategies, execution plans, and construction strategies.
• Manage interface deliverables, facility interconnections, interface drawings, layouts, and interface HAZOP activities.

Site and Commissioning Coordination

• Coordinate with EPC interface teams and stakeholders on documentation, feedback, brownfield interfaces, and shutdown tie-ins.
• Maintain databases and review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for project systems.
• Monitor schedules, document reviews, and procedure development to prevent project slippage.

Change Management and Performance

• Review interface concession requests and assess their technical integrity, justification, and multidisciplinary impacts.
• Control interface-related engineering changes and maintain the interface engineering document review plan.
• Lead interface execution and communicate status, concerns, conflicts, and required support to project management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 15 years of oil, gas, or petrochemical industry experience.
• At least five years of project interface management experience.
• Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects and with multiple FEED and EPC packages.
• GCC or ADNOC experience and project execution knowledge are preferred.

Technical Competencies

• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Working knowledge of PFD/P&ID, HAZOP, and 3D model reviews.
• Expertise in technical reports, coordination procedures, and formal technical correspondence.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop interface point design parameters.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and time management skills.
