About the Role
NMC Health plc is seeking an Ophthalmology Specialist to provide eye care in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure care meets DoH standards, participate in quality reviews, and coordinate with the HOD.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that Ophthalmological care rendered meets DoH standards
- Monitor within established guidelines the quality of care provided and participate in review/study of difficult and special cases
- Monitor the eye care rendered on a daily basis to ensure that DoH Standards are met
- Keep informed as to current developments in the field of ophthalmology
- Be available for consultation after working hours
- Coordinate with the HOD in planning programs integrating the curative and preventive aspects of total patient care
- Participate in the implementation of approved curative/preventive programs as they relate to Ophthalmology
- Take an active role in teaching activities provided for nursing & ancillary staff
- Participate in committees as requested by the Medical Director
- Strictly observe organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care
Requirements
- At least 3 5 years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level
- At least 1 year Specialist level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by the UAE healthcare regulator
- Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification/education programme (fellowship/diploma) recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority
- Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by relevant UAE healthcare authority
- Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
- Eligibility for relevant healthcare authority registration e.g. Membership from Royal College / Arab Board Certification / MS / DM / MPhil or equivalent

Duties and Responsibilities

- Participates in the implementation of approved curative/preventive programs as they relate to Ophthalmology.
- Takes an active role in teaching activities provided for nursing & ancillary staff.
- Participates in committees as requested by the Medical Director.
- Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested by the HOD.
- Participates in quality related activities programs as requested by the Medical Director.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 5 years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level (independent of country).
- At least 1 year Specialist level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by the UAE healthcare regulator.
- Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification/education programme (fellowship/diploma) recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
- Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by relevant UAE healthcare authority. Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
