The Spa Therapist provides consultations, beauty therapy, massage, body therapy, and specialized treatments for spa members and guests.
The role includes guest aftercare, retail promotion, spa consultations, and support for wider spa operations.
Duties and Functions
- Conduct spa treatment consultations and identify possible contraindications.
- Perform beauty therapy, massage, body therapy, and specialized treatments to the required standard.
- Provide home-care well-being programs and aftercare advice to members and guests.
- Achieve retail sales and promote spa treatments, services, products, programs, promotions, and discounts.
- Maintain treatment rooms and therapy back-of-house areas to high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ensure equipment is serviced as part of a preventative maintenance program.
- Carry out spa tours and consultations and provide personalized advice about facilities, treatments, and products.
- Assist with spa promotions, events, marketing, and public relations.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all services and products offered.
- Clean, prepare, and restock treatment rooms and maintain treatment laundry stock.
- Keep accurate records for visits, treatments, purchases, and stock control.
- Report hazards and incidents and support safe operations across the spa department.
Standards and Guest Service
- Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards required by law and the spa's policies and procedures.
- Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses.
- Work without direct supervision when required and communicate matters needing management attention.
Requirements
- Perform spa treatment consultations and identify possible contraindications.
- Deliver beauty therapy, massage, body therapy, and specialized treatments to the required standard.
- Provide professional aftercare and home-care well-being advice to guests and members.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and sterilization.
- Work independently without direct supervision when required.
- Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate records for visits, treatments, purchases, and stock control.
