Overview

  • We're looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
  • As Sous Chef, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, working closely with our Executive Chef to maintain exceptional food quality, lead kitchen staff, and ensure seamless service during all meal periods.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct all food preparation activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Assist in menu planning and development, bringing innovative ideas while ensuring cost effectiveness
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and supply chain to optimize resources and minimize waste
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health codes, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards specific to UAE requirements
  • Properly measure, portion, and prepare all food items according to established specifications and quality guidelines
  • Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment efficiently, including knives, slicers, pots, pans, steamers, grills, and ovens
  • Monitor food temperatures and storage procedures to ensure freshness, quality, and food safety at all times
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts and manage discipline when necessary, while maintaining a supportive and motivational atmosphere
  • Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring workstations are clean, organized, sanitized, and properly stocked
  • Make quick, decisive decisions during service to resolve issues and maintain operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless service delivery
