Solar Piling Rig Operator

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Operate solar piling rigs to install steel posts at designated locations.
• Coordinate with surveyors and supervisors on pile position, alignment, verticality, and installation levels.
• Select machine settings according to equipment instructions and approved procedures.
• Monitor progress and report refusal, obstructions, pile damage, or unexpected ground conditions.
• Stop and seek instructions when installation requirements cannot be achieved.
• Conduct daily inspections of hydraulic systems, hoses, tracks, attachments, guards, and emergency controls.
• Carry out routine operator maintenance and report defects promptly.
• Move and position the rig safely while checking ground conditions and clearances.
• Coordinate with helpers and banksmen during pile handling and positioning.
• Maintain records of completed piles, operating hours, and downtime.
• Follow site HSE requirements, exclusion zones, and safe operating procedures.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience operating solar piling rigs for steel post installation.
• A valid Qatar ID is required at the time of application.
• Relevant piling rig operator training or competency certification.
• Practical understanding of pile alignment, verticality, installation depth, and level control.
• Ability to inspect equipment and recognize mechanical or hydraulic faults.
• Ability to follow setting-out marks, supervisors’ instructions, and safety signals.
• Strong commitment to safety, equipment care, and installation quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on large-scale solar photovoltaic projects.
• Previous Qatar or GCC construction experience.
• Experience operating different makes or models of solar piling rigs.

Work Location

• The work location is in person at the Dukhan Solar Project in Dukhan, Qatar.
