Mechanic – Piling Equipment

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs on piling rigs and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, undercarriages, and mechanical components.
• Inspect and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and connections.
• Attend breakdowns and coordinate repairs with operators and site supervisors.
• Inspect piling attachments and moving components for wear, damage, and correct operation.
• Identify spare parts requirements and coordinate with stores and procurement.
• Follow manufacturers’ maintenance schedules and technical instructions.
• Maintain service records, repair reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Test equipment after repairs and confirm readiness for service.
• Follow safe isolation procedures, release stored pressure, and support components safely.
• Maintain a clean work area and handle oils, lubricants, and waste responsibly.

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience maintaining and repairing piling rigs and associated foundation equipment.
• A valid Qatar ID is required at the time of application.
• Previous experience as a heavy equipment or piling rig mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and hydraulic diagrams.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment, workshop tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with operators and site teams.
• Good understanding of safe maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with solar piling rigs and forklifts.
• Relevant mechanical trade certificate or technical diploma.
• Previous Qatar or GCC construction experience.
• Basic knowledge of equipment electrical systems and controls.

Work Location

• The work location is in person at the Dukhan Solar Project in Dukhan, Qatar.
