Safety Officer

Role Overview

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven safety experience in piling works and associated foundation activities is mandatory.
• Previous experience as a Safety Officer on construction projects is required.
• Candidates must understand piling rig hazards, lifting operations, heavy equipment safety, and excavation risks.
• Candidates must be able to conduct inspections, deliver toolbox talks, and communicate with a multicultural workforce.
• Good English communication and safety reporting skills are required.

Site Safety Duties

• Inspect piling, lifting, excavation, and heavy equipment activities each day.
• Verify compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Monitor exclusion zones, access routes, machinery guarding, and protection around open boreholes.
• Check PPE use, safe working practices, equipment records, and operator certifications.
• Identify unsafe conditions, intervene during immediate danger, and report concerns to the HSE Manager.
• Follow up corrective actions with supervisors and construction teams.

Training and Incident Support

• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and workforce awareness sessions.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, emergency drills, and response arrangements.
• Maintain inspection records, training registers, and daily safety reports.
• Monitor heat-stress precautions, housekeeping, waste management, and spill prevention.

Preferred Qualifications

• NEBOSH International General Certificate or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification is preferred.
• A relevant diploma or degree is preferred.
• Solar project or Qatar/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• First aid and fire safety training are preferred.

Work Location

• Work is performed in person on the Dukhan Solar Project construction site.
