Opportunity Overview

What You Will Do

• Develop, debug, and test 5G baseband Layer 2 software features.
• Develop real-time 5G base station software.
• Apply AI/ML methods to development work and 5G signal-processing simulations.
• Develop automated 5G test cases and test tools.
• Perform feature and integration testing on 5G laboratory equipment.
• Build command-line, web-based, log analysis, and software management tools.
• Develop analytics APIs and data pipelines for 5G feature performance.
• Generate test data for design validation.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues found during testing.

Core Requirements

• Pursue a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a relevant technical field.
• Be enrolled full time in an accredited program at a four-year college or university during the co-op.
• Have a GPA of 2.7 or equivalent.
• Have programming experience in at least one listed programming language.
• Have effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week.

Skills and Assets

• Relevant programming languages include Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, Perl, Java SpringBoot, and HTML/CSS.
• Linux, Gerrit, GitHub, Jenkins, Django, and Angular familiarity is an asset.
• HTTP and REST frameworks, database fundamentals, Kubernetes, and Docker knowledge are assets.
• General knowledge of LTE or 5G wireless protocols is an asset.
• Data Science roles prefer Python data science libraries and time-series analysis.
• Analytics/API roles prefer REST API framework experience and familiarity with AWS and containerization.

Placement Schedule

• The co-op duration is 8–16 months.
• The expected start date is January 4, 2027.
• The role requires availability for 40 hours per week.

Compensation

• Bachelor's students are listed at CAD 25.50–34.50 per hour.
• Master's students are listed at CAD 37 per hour.
• PhD students are listed at CAD 41 per hour.
