Software Architect

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Define the target architecture and phased roadmap for transitioning from the current to the target state.
• Design and lead a canonical data model across the production system while maintaining continuity and data integrity.
• Establish an occupation and job-title taxonomy using ESCO, ISCO, O*NET, or SOC and map legacy free-text data.
• Define architecture standards and technology choices across .NET, Azure, web, and mobile applications.
• Establish CI/CD, environment separation, version management, and deployment practices.
• Maintain ADRs, design documentation, and technical specifications in the architecture repository.
• Prepare data for machine and AI consumption, including search relevance and AI output quality evaluation.
• Apply Security by Design and support compliance with localization, PDPL, retention, and third-party governance requirements.
• Assess the scope, impact, and cost of architectural changes before delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with teams in Riyadh and Cairo and serve as a technical reference for governance and security audits.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years in software architecture.
• Experience scaling a multi-sided marketplace or high-traffic consumer platform with millions of records.
• Hands-on experience with existing production systems, not only greenfield development.
• Expertise in data modeling, canonical data models, and production data migration.
• Knowledge of occupation or job classification standards and legacy data mapping.
• Architectural experience with .NET and cloud computing; Azure is strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, environment separation, and release management.
• Experience with Security by Design, data localization, privacy, retention, and third-party data governance.
• Ability to lead through engineering teams without direct managerial authority.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in Recruitment, HR Tech, or marketplace platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML services in production and evaluating model output quality.
• Knowledge of PDPL or similar regional data protection regulations.
