The Site Engineer - Structural Steel manages structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation activities.
The role covers structural frameworks, columns, beams, bracings, trusses, platforms, staircases, grating, equipment supports, pipe racks, and miscellaneous steel components.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in data centre, industrial, power, infrastructure, oil and gas, or commercial construction projects is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of structural steel erection methodologies, welding practices, bolted connections, fabrication processes, lifting operations, and NDT requirements is required.
- The role requires familiarity with AISC, BS, ASTM, IS, and project-specific standards.
- Strong technical, planning, coordination, and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, supervise, and execute structural steel work in line with drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedules.
- Review drawings, connection details, erection methodologies, lifting plans, and material specifications.
- Coordinate clients, consultants, subcontractors, fabricators, survey teams, cranes, and erection crews.
- Monitor quality, traceability, bolt tightening, welding, dimensional control, alignment, verticality, and connections.
- Conduct inspections, coordinate NDT, support audits, resolve technical issues, and manage manpower and equipment.
- Prepare progress reports and erection records, coordinate inspections, support punch-list clearance and handover, and enforce HSE requirements.
