Role Overview
The Site Engineer - PHE plans, coordinates, supervises, and executes public health engineering works.
The role covers plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, and associated utility systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of water, drainage, sewage, stormwater, pumping, tank, rainwater harvesting, and treatment systems.
- Review construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection teams.
- Monitor site progress, manpower, resources, installation quality, technical issues, and project milestones.
- Coordinate pressure, hydro, leak, flushing, disinfection, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain progress and inspection records and prepare regular reports.
- Support authority inspections, coordinate with utility providers, manage documentation, assist with handover, and prepare as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with quality plans and HSE requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, water supply, drainage, pumping, utility coordination, testing, and commissioning is required.
- Knowledge of IPC, UPC, IS Codes, and local authority regulations is required.
- Experience in data centres, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare, infrastructure, or mission critical facilities is preferred.
- Strong technical, planning, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
Technical Knowledge
- The role requires knowledge of public health engineering systems and associated utility services.
- Applicable standards include IPC, UPC, IS Codes, and local authority regulations.
