Job Description
Egis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Site with a minimum of 12 years of experience in Abu Dhabi.
The role oversees structural engineering operations on-site for a building project and coordinates technical delivery, safety, and quality.
The position requires leadership of multidisciplinary teams and resolution of complex structural challenges during construction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise structural and civil engineering activities, inspections, quality audits, testing, and corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and daily site records.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Review structural drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, and construction methodologies.
- Manage structural, material, load, and non-destructive testing activities.
- Monitor health, safety, and environmental compliance on-site.
- Lead engineering teams and projects from initiation through completion.
- Maintain project records using BIM and project management systems.
- Resolve engineering challenges and communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of civil or structural engineering experience, including 5 years in senior site supervision.
- Experience with structural design review, analysis, site execution, and complex building or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of ACI, BS, Eurocodes, UAE regulations, construction methodologies, temporary works, and structural safety.
- Proficiency in STAAD Pro, SAP2000 or an equivalent tool, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms such as Revit or Navisworks.
- Leadership, project management, analytical, communication, reporting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction and LEED is advantageous.
- Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or PMP certification is preferred or advantageous.
- Previous UAE or Middle East experience is highly preferred.
Workplace and Schedule
- The role is site based in the UAE and requires full-time on-site work.
- Flexibility is essential to adapt to project requirements and schedules.
