  • Establish best practices for architecture, performance, memory use, responsive UI, Windows compatibility, and maintainability.
  • Implement and validate accessibility APIs, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and accessible controls.
  • Work with design, UX research, QA, product, and other stakeholders on Windows features and roadmap.
  • Own features from conception through design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems.

Required qualifications

  • At least 3 years developing Windows desktop applications with Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar frameworks, C#, and XAML.
  • Deep understanding of Windows application architecture and managed-to-native code interoperability.
  • Experience designing, building, and shipping reliable production desktop applications.
  • Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs such as Microsoft UI Automation.
  • Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, and concurrent programming.
  • Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture decisions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A user-centric approach to polished, intuitive, and accessible software.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with automated UI testing and relevant testing frameworks.
  • Experience optimizing memory, startup time, rendering, high-DPI support, and responsiveness.
  • Experience with localization, globalization, right-to-left interfaces, or accessibility across regions.
  • Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, error monitoring, CI/CD, and desktop release pipelines.

Role offering

  • The role offers the opportunity to define Windows architecture and influence products used by millions of people.
  • The distributed culture provides flexibility, autonomy, and end-to-end feature ownership.
  • The role includes opportunities to mentor engineers and grow toward technical leadership or architecture.

Application notes

  • Applicants are asked to describe their interest and include portfolio and LinkedIn links.

Work arrangement
