Senior Software Engineer - Product Development

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements and complex business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Design backend services, APIs, and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
• Build integrations with on-vehicle, telemetry, and third-party systems with appropriate failure handling.
• Own features from technical design and estimation through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Write tested code, conduct reviews, and maintain standards for quality, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify technical risks and architectural debt and develop remediation plans.
• Optimize application and database performance and resolve production issues.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, implement observability, and manage cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code.
• Participate in incident response, release management, and post-incident improvements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is a minimum requirement.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.
• Strong experience with at least one primary programming language such as Python, C#, Java, Go, or similar.
• Strong SQL skills and REST API development experience.
• Experience with Kafka, MQTT, cloud platforms, containers, and Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and release management.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating production software at scale.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, accountable approach.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with real-time, telemetry, IoT, or similar data-intensive environments is highly advantageous.
• Front-end development or data visualization experience is a plus.
• Exposure to machine learning, data engineering, or agentic AI technologies is advantageous but not essential.

• International applicants and candidates requiring relocation to the UAE are not being considered.
• Candidates must already be based in the UAE and available to take up a Dubai-based role.
