Role Overview
Senior Backend Software Engineer role on an AI-first engineering team.
The role supports a next-generation corporate expense management platform.
The position focuses on global commerce, payments, issuing, ledgers, policy management, and accounting integrations.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop high-performance features and core services for a global customer base.
- Build and scale backend systems for commerce, payments, issuing platforms, and payment or money ledgers.
- Own customer-facing features from design and development through deployment and operational support.
- Collaborate with global engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders.
- Champion engineering practices in code quality, scalability, documentation, monitoring, and testing.
- Apply new technologies and industry trends to complex engineering challenges.
What We're Looking For
- 4-6 years of experience building and scaling complex systems; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including JVM performance and optimization.
- Experience with AI models, AI-driven development, distributed systems, microservices, API design, and cloud platforms.
