The Senior Software Engineer contributes to research, design, and development of complex software solutions across multiple systems and products.
The team supports education products and electronic health records that prepare students for digital clinical documentation.
The role involves cross-functional collaboration, technical excellence, and support for developer growth.
Responsibilities
- Interface with technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements.
- Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components.
- Complete complex bug fixes and resolve technical issues.
- Translate complex product requirements into software designs.
- Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Work across Agile, Waterfall, and other development environments with key stakeholders.
- Train entry-level software engineers on critical aspects of their roles.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong proficiency with data manipulation language and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles.
- Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
- Expertise in development languages and platforms including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
- Strong research skills.
- Strong knowledge of software development industry best practices.
- Knowledge of using and developing applicable tool sets.
