Role overview

Lead AI for Science, Research Intelligence, and Knowledge Discovery within the data science organization.

Define AI and data science strategy across products, customers, and business outcomes.

Guide teams through the full lifecycle of AI systems from experimentation to production.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy across machine learning, NLP, search, recommendation, experimentation, and generative AI.
  • Align work with product goals, customer needs, and business priorities.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, prioritization, and scientific rigor.
  • Deliver AI and knowledge-discovery systems using LLMs, RAG, search, and domain-enriched AI.
  • Establish evaluation frameworks, metrics, experimentation practices, and responsible AI standards.
  • Partner with product, technology, and business leaders to shape roadmaps and align teams.
  • Translate technical insights into measurable customer and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in data science, AI and machine learning, NLP, information retrieval, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, experimentation, deep learning, generative AI, and production AI systems.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, semantic search, embeddings, agentic workflows, and knowledge-driven systems.
  • Proven success leading and developing technical teams in complex product, platform, or research environments.
  • Experience with large, complex datasets and scalable, maintainable, production-ready AI systems.
  • Strong people leadership, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to turn ambiguity into clear strategy and measurable outcomes.
