Leadership and Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage clinical and non clinical operations within their respective units in a shift, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to foster professional development and high quality patient care.

General Nursing Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions.
  • Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment.
  • Perform systematic patient assessment, re assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
  • Understand and analyse the assessment information and data.
  • Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team.
  • Record vital signs, recognize, address and escalate all abnormalities.
  • Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
  • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
  • Provide wound care management.
  • Facilitate the process of safe patient’s admission, transfer and discharge.

Paediatric Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver duties that focus on the protection, promotion, and optimization of the health of children from new born age through young adulthood.
  • Deliver care focused on patient and family centred approaches.
  • Educate mothers and families to protect the paediatric patient from injuries.
  • Manage diseases (as part of an interdisciplinary team) to restore health, and maximizing comfort.
  • Support children and families to adopt strategies to support self care and physical and cognitive development.
  • Administer prescribed medication and monitor the patient's progress.
  • Assessing growth patterns.
  • Evaluating developmental milestones and educating parents about normal growth and development.
  • Eliciting comprehensive health histories.

Essential Requirements

  • Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority.
  • Manage their own professional re licensure.
  • Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter professional team.
  • Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in Arabic.
