Job Summary

  • The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial, contractual, and cost aspects of civil and building construction projects from inception to final account. The role ensures effective cost control, timely payments, contract compliance, and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial and contractual activities related to assigned projects.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flow forecasts, cost reports, and profitability projections.
  • Prepare and submit client payment applications, interim valuations, and final accounts.
  • Administer subcontract agreements, payment certifications, and contract compliance.
  • Manage variations, claims, change orders, and contractual correspondence.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender packages, and support procurement activities.
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate with site and technical teams to ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Prepare Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost to complete reports, and monthly commercial reports.
  • Ensure all project changes are properly documented, approved, and commercially recovered.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve commercial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements, and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of Quantity Surveying experience in civil and building construction projects.
  • GCC experience is an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of cost management, contract administration, and commercial management.
  • Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take off, tendering, and subcontract management.
  • Good understanding of FIDIC contracts and standard methods of measurement.
  • Proficiency in CCS Candy, AutoCAD, MS Office applications, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
