Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
  • Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to identify project scope, risks, and commercial opportunities.
  • Prepare quantity take offs, cost build ups, estimate reconciliations, and pricing for MV/LV systems, substations, power distribution, lighting, earthing, and associated electrical works.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop accurate and competitive bids.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, identify risks, and support tender strategies.
  • Review contractor estimates, variation requests, and pricing submissions, providing commercial and technical recommendations.
  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost benchmarks, and market pricing information.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company procedures, quality standards, and commercial confidentiality.

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 13–15+ years of experience in electrical estimation for infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or large scale building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, substations, power distribution, lighting, earthing, cable routing, and associated electrical installations.
  • Proficient in estimation software, quantity take off tools, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong understanding of value engineering, cost planning, tendering procedures, FIDIC contracts, and commercial risk management.
  • Knowledge of local material pricing, labor productivity, subcontractor management, and electrical construction methodologies.
  • GCC experience preferred.
  • MMUP/UPDA Engineer Registration is preferred.
